This Moroccan green pottery bowl was handmade in Tamegroute, a small village in the Draa Valley of southern Morocco. The spectacular green pottery gets its color from naturally occurring copper in the clay from the Draa River and a magnesium-based glaze. The unique glazing technique has been passed down through generations and each piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind.

Affixed to the rim and base of the bowl is a hand forged brass melange shield, with beading and a florid scroll repousse design. The bowl has a slightly uneven rim due to its handmade nature.

Due to the nature of this product, no two pieces of pottery are ever the same. In the firing ovens the pieces are stacked together, which create little scars during separation. The kilns are made from molded earth, with holes dug underneath containing a fire that is tended round-the-clock. Each piece is different with its own imperfections. The color and shape is never exactly the same.

Tamegroute, Morocco is the only place in the world only place to find this handmade pottery.

Bowl measures: 7.15" diameter, 3.5" deep.
