Vintage Berber rugs from Morocco, Algeria and North Africa. One of the best-known Moroccan handicrafts, our vintage Moroccan rugs have been hand-selected for their high quality and special beauty. The density of the knots determines the quality of the rugs and carpets, with some of the highest quality rugs having as many as 60,000 knots per square meter. Moroccan rug and carpet weaving was begun by women, and has been passed on from generation to generation. Each region of Morocco and North Africa has specific colors and designs used for making rugs, and rugs are often still made on traditional homemade looms.
