This cockle shell necklace has hundreds of shells and is more than 100 years old. Entirely hand-strung, the six sections of beads are separated by amber copal resin beads and brown wood beads. Continuous design goes over head; no closure.
This item comes from the southern Moroccan town of Zagora, where it was sourced directly from the family who owned the necklace for generations. These cockle shell necklaces are highly collectible and difficult to find in good condition.
