Antique Moroccan Red Coral Tuareg Necklace - Multi-Strand with Silver Bead

Regular price $2,200.00 Sale

You can just imagine how beautiful this antique coral necklace will look around your neck, and how it will feel to wear such a magnificent piece. Large branches of true coral are interspersed with sterling silver beads. The four strands meet on sides, highlighting the collarbone on each side with a large round silver bead and numerous smaller beads. Another section of coral ends at the hook closure with four silver beads and an antique coin. In the center is a stunning very large oval sterling silver bead. Entirely handmade, with hand-formed beads. Hook and eye closure.

More than 100 years old this true red coral, also known as precious coral, is very hard to find and no longer sold. This antique necklace comes from the small desert town of Zagora, Morocco, sourced directly from the original owner's Tuareg descendants.

The Tuareg originate from Mali, Algeria and Libya, but after travelling the Sahara Desert, a small group settled in the southern Moroccan Zagora province. Silver Sahara sources all our Tuareg items directly from descendants of the original settlers, ensuring that fair prices are paid.
