This handcrafted antique chest is quite a find. Hand carved, the Spanish Galleon are perfectly painted and detailed, down to the waves of the water and red Crow's nest. The chest is made of Tamarisk, also known as salt cedar, which is naturally pest repellent. The lid is affixed with two antique hinges, whose rust and hand forged hardware bear evidence to the age of the piece.
Sourced from Morocco, this maritime treasure chest likely came originally from Spain or Portugal, as the ships sails display the Red Cross flags of the Spanish Armada. The Classic lines and seafaring image are perfect for beach house or nautically themed decor.
