This gorgeous rug is hand-loomed from 100% sheep's wool and pearl cotton fibers. Berber use them in multi purposes on floor, hang them on wall as art or put on sofa. Authentic Hand-knotted antique Berber wool rug with pearl cotton fibers.

The quality is exceptional -- a super tight weave with expertly executed design.

Hand-loomed using a vertical loom, this noble art has been passed down from Berber ancestors. Based in the heart of Algeria; Deep South, in a city called Ghardaia, also known as the "Pearl of Oasis". The indigenous people are Berber, aka “M’ZAB”. In 1982, the city of Ghardaia was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List as a cultural property.

These rugs are sourced directly from our friend Hocine Bazine, an Algerian man who makes the rugs with his family and his partner's family. They also help other families to weave rugs, providing an important stream of income to this impoverished rural area.
