This gorgeous rug is hand-loomed from 100% sheep's wool and pearl cotton fibers. Berber use them in multi purposes on floor, hang them on wall as art or put on sofa.
The quality is exceptional -- a super tight weave with expertly executed design.

Weaving duration: 15 days
Hand-loomed using a vertical loom, this noble art has been passed down from Berber ancestors. The area of southern Algeria where these rugs are made is well-known for weaving Berber rugs, and many families gain their bread (literally) from this art. 
These rugs are sourced directly from my friend Hocine Bazine, an Algerian man who makes the rugs with his family and his partner's family. They also help other families to weave rugs, providing an important stream of income to this impoverished rural area.

All sales on Silver Sahara benefit the native artisans and help to ensure continuation of traditional craft techniques.
