A very large and nicely enameled Moroccan Berber Fibula with a large marbled amber copal bead in the center. The Moroccan silver fibula is from the 1900s, and is colorfully enameled, with small enameled metal charms hanging from the large main plate.
Moroccan Fibulae are brooches used to attach the headscarf to clothing. In Berber culture, the indigenous culture of Morocco, the larger and more valuable the brooch, the higher the standing of the woman in the tribe.
