This brass canister pendant light is one of my all-time favorite things at Silver Sahara. I discovered it while in the legendary mountain town of Chefchaouen, which is an otherworldly town painted all in blue. At the top of the town, near the river where women wash rugs, there is a small shop tucked under an archway. The smell of kif wafted from the shop, where a man sat at the entrance on a low stool, hammering designs into a brass plate. His precision and skill were mesmerizing to watch. After poking around the shop, I looked up and was immediately drawn to this lantern. While many lamps are quite fragile and ding easily, this lamp is made of heavy solid brass. And the artistry is astounding -- it is rare to see such lovely handiwork on a lamp; it is truly a work of art.
