Vintage Moroccan Red Kilim Throw Pillow - Handwoven Wool - Square - Decorative Berber Tribal - Boho Home Decor
This bold handmade pillow adds an exotic Bohemian feel to any room. Decorated with geometric designs that mimic Berber tribal tattoos, as well as other symbolic imagery like the evil eye. Each pillow is one-of-a-kind, handwoven by Moroccan weavers. This particular style of Moroccan pillows is known as Zaiane, and often features tassels and even sequins. Pillows are 100% wool. This pillow was sourced directly from a female cooperative located in Ouarzazate, Morocco.
Diamond patterns, known as lozenges, are symbolic of protective eyes, a common motif in Berber and Tuareg Arts & Crafts. They also are said to represent fertility. The other main motif on this pillow is a frog, also associated with fertility. Additional symbols include those for crops and protection.
